• V. K. Ramasamy was already a veteran character actor when he was paired with newcomer Prameela in 'Sondham' (1973). The director K. Vijayan specifically cast them as father-daughter to give Prameela a strong launch — and it worked. She got noticed immediately.
• In 'Unnai Suttrum Ulagam' (1977), Ramasamy played a stern father opposite Prameela's rebellious daughter. Their scenes together had a natural push-pull: Ramasamy's booming voice set the tension, and Prameela's quiet defiance made the conflict feel real. Neither overacted — they let the silence between lines do the work.
• On the sets of 'Sadhurangam' (1978), Ramasamy would often rehearse his lines with Prameela before each take, even though he had decades more experience.
