• In 'Kabaddi Kabaddi' (2003), Brahmanandam’s frantic, high-energy comedy forced Kalyani to play the straight woman with a deadpan stare — she barely blinked in their scenes together, which made his chaos funnier.
• Kalyani once said in an interview that Brahmanandam would rehearse their scenes with her in the vanity van before every shot, because he wanted her to feel comfortable matching his timing — she was a newcomer and he didn't want her to get nervous on set.
• They first met on the sets of 'Kabaddi Kabaddi' (2003) because the director, Prem, specifically paired them after seeing Brahmanandam’s earlier work with another actress — he wanted a fresh face opposite the veteran to create a contrast.
