• Bhatt cast Grover as the villain in 'Sir' (1993) after seeing him play a menacing role in 'Ram Lakhan'. Grover later said Bhatt told him, 'You have the eyes of a man who can make the audience hate you and still watch you.'
• On the set of 'Criminal' (1995), Grover would improvise his dialogue in a low, slow growl — and Bhatt would rewrite the entire scene around that delivery. The director told the crew, 'Let him find the rhythm, then we build the beat.'
