• Satti Babu was a regular dialogue writer for Chalapathi Rao’s production house before Rao asked him to co-write Betting Bangarraju (2010). That script session turned into a co-director offer — Rao saw Satti Babu’s comic timing on paper and said, “You write it, you direct it.”
• On the sets of Yamudiki Mogudu (2012), Chalapathi Rao would deliberately flub his lines in the first take just to make Satti Babu laugh. Satti Babu then rewrote those scenes on the spot to match Rao’s accidental punchlines — the final film had nearly 15 minutes of dialogue that started as mistakes.
• Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu (2016) was the first Telugu film to use a live studio audience for a game-show climax. The audience reactions were real — Satti Babu hid Chalapathi Rao behind a curtain and had him whisper wrong answers to contestants just to get genuine groans on camera.
• After Betting Bangarraju flopped, Chalapathi Rao told Satti Babu, “Next time, I’ll act worse so you look better as a director.” They kept that joke going for all three films — Rao would intentionally overact in the first rehearsal, then nail the take just to mess with Satti Babu’s stress levels.
• Satti Babu once said in a 2016 interview: “Chalapathi Rao garu is the only actor who can make me rewrite a scene while he’s already performing it. I’ll be scribbling on the script and he’ll be delivering the new lines before I finish the sentence.”
