• They first shared screen space in Dookudu (2011), but Vennela Kishore was initially cast in a different role. Director Srinu Vaitla saw him on set and swapped him into the part opposite Surekha Vani at the last minute — that scene where she slaps him became a meme before memes were a thing.
• In every film, Surekha Vani played the exasperated wife/girlfriend who yells at Kishore’s bumbling character. The trick? She always delivered her lines a beat early, forcing him to react flustered — that stutter-and-spill energy is entirely her timing, not his.
• Their comic track in S/O Satyamurthy (2015) — where Kishore tries to impress Vani’s family and fails spectacularly — directly inspired the entire subplot of the 2017 Tamil film Saravanan Irukka Bayamaen. The director admitted he rewatched that 20-minute stretch five times.
