• Shakti Kapoor was cast in Sargam (1979) only after Rishi Kapoor personally recommended him to director K. Viswanath. Rishi had seen Shakti's work in a small role and insisted he was perfect for the comic villain part.
• In Sargam, Rishi Kapoor deliberately slowed down his usual fast-paced comic timing to match Shakti's more measured, deadpan delivery. The result was a rhythm where Rishi's energy bounced off Shakti's stillness — a trick they never repeated in later films.
