• Their first film together, Thangamana Thangachi (1991), almost didn't happen. The director wanted a different comedian for Senthil's role, but Mansoor Ali Khan insisted on Senthil after seeing him in a stage play. He told the producer, 'If he's not in it, I'm out.'
• In Therku Theru Machan (1992), Mansoor Ali Khan would deliberately flub his lines during serious scenes to make Senthil break character. Senthil then started doing the same back. The director eventually kept the camera rolling because the outtakes were funnier than the scripted comedy.
• Their 1993 film Ezhai Jaathi bombed so badly that both actors swore off working together for five years. But the failure directly led to Natpukkaga (1998), where they played estranged brothers — a role reversal of their real-life fallout. That film revived both their careers.
• During the shoot of Unnai Kann Theduthey (2000), Senthil's father passed away. Mansoor Ali Khan drove six hours to the funeral, then stayed back to handle all the arrangements so Senthil could grieve. They never spoke about it publicly, but Senthil later said, 'That day, he became my brother, not just a co-star.'
• Mansoor Ali Khan once said in a 2015 interview: 'Senthil is the only actor who can make me forget my lines. We'd be in the middle of a scene, he'd give me that look, and I'd just lose it. The audience thinks we're acting. No, we're just trying not to laugh.'
• In Kick (2023), their first film together in 23 years, they didn't rehearse a single scene. Mansoor Ali Khan told the director, 'Just let us go. We'll find the rhythm.' They shot the entire comedy track in two days — half the time the schedule had allotted.
