• Dasari Narayana Rao cast Jeetendra in 'Jyoti Bane Jwala' (1980) after seeing his energy in a Telugu film. Jeetendra was nervous about working with a director who didn't speak Hindi well. Dasari solved it by acting out every scene himself — in Telugu. Jeetendra later said he understood the emotions better than the words.
• On the set of 'Mehndi Rang Layegi' (1982), Dasari would block the entire song sequence in one take, then let Jeetendra improvise his steps. Jeetendra's natural rhythm made Dasari rewrite two scenes to include more dance. The director admitted Jeetendra's feet were faster than his script.
• Dasari and Jeetendra had a standing bet on every film: if the movie ran for 25 weeks, Jeetendra would throw a party at his farmhouse. If it flopped, Dasari would cook a full Telugu meal for the crew. They never actually cooked — every single one of their Hindi films except 'Zakhmi Sher' (1984) was a hit.
• The success of 'Prem Tapasya' (1983) directly led to Jeetendra being cast in 'Himmatwala' (1983) — the film that defined his 80s action-hero image. Dasari had shown the rushes to producer K.C. Bokadia, who saw Jeetendra's intensity in the climax and signed him on the spot.
• Their last film together, 'Santaan' (1993), almost didn't happen. Jeetendra had a scheduling conflict with a bigger project. Dasari flew to his set, waited six hours, and told him: 'I'll shoot your scenes in two days. Just trust me.' They finished the entire film in 18 days — a record for both.
