• Pandiraj didn't plan to cast Soori in 'Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga' (2013). He wrote the role for a different comedian. Soori heard about it, walked into Pandiraj's office unannounced, and begged for a chance. Pandiraj gave him one scene to prove himself. That scene became the film's biggest laugh.
• In 'Namma Veettu Pillai' (2019), Pandiraj deliberately wrote Soori's comedy track to mirror the hero's emotional arc. Soori's character wasn't just comic relief — he was the hero's conscience. Pandiraj told Soori to underplay every joke so the pathos hit harder. Soori listened, and the film became a hit.
• The success of 'Kadai Kutty Singam' (2018) directly led to Pandiraj casting Soori as a lead in his own village comedy 'Namma Veettu Pillai' the next year. Before that, Soori was strictly a supporting comedian. Pandiraj gave him a full-fledged role with a family track — something no other director had done for Soori at that point.
