• For Rakhwala (1989), Prem Chopra was the first villain cast. Sharat Saxena was brought in later to play a second antagonist. The two had never shared screen space before, and the director, Sudarshan Nag, deliberately pitted them against each other in the climax to see who could out-sneer whom.
• In Deewana Main Deewana (2013), Prem Chopra played a calm, manipulative patriarch while Sharat Saxena played a hot-headed enforcer. Saxena later told a trade journalist that Chopra would deliberately slow down his dialogue delivery in their scenes together, forcing Saxena to match his rhythm — which made Saxena's anger look more explosive by contrast.
• Despite playing rivals on screen, the two shared a running joke: every time they finished a scene together, Prem Chopra would ask Sharat Saxena, "Kitne villain hain aaj?" (How many villains are there today?) — a reference to the fact that both were often cast as the bad guy in the same film.
• Their third film together, Hum Mein Shahenshah Koun (2026), marks the first time in their 37-year collaboration that they play allies instead of enemies. The film's poster — showing them standing shoulder to shoulder — was widely shared on social media as a 'villain reunion' moment.
• Sharat Saxena once said in an interview: "Prem ji ke saath kaam karte waqt mujhe apna dialogue yaad rakhne ki tension nahi hoti — woh khud hi aise bolte hain ki main apna line bhi unse seekh leta hoon."
