• Rakhee was the one who pushed for Amitabh to be cast in Jurmana (1979). The director, Hrishikesh Mukherjee, initially wanted a younger, less established actor. Rakhee insisted that only Big B could play the brooding, wounded lover — and she was right.
• In Bemisal (1982), Amitabh and Rakhee played a married couple whose relationship falls apart. The film's most intense scene — where she slaps him — was shot in one take. Rakhee later said she was actually trembling, but Amitabh whispered 'keep going' between shots.
• Amitabh and Rakhee never became close friends off-screen. They were strictly professional. On the sets of Shaan (1980), they barely spoke between scenes. Rakhee once told a journalist: 'He is a co-star, not a confidant.'
