• Dimple Kapadia was the one who pushed for Suresh Oberoi to be cast as her husband in Aitbaar (1985). The director, Mukul S. Anand, initially wanted a bigger name, but Dimple insisted Oberoi had the right 'quiet menace' for the role.
• In Insaaf (1987), Dimple and Suresh deliberately played against their usual images. She, the glamorous star, underplayed her emotions to make him, the character actor, the louder, more volatile presence. It was Dimple's idea to let Suresh dominate every argument scene.
• During the shoot of Kali Ganga (1990), Dimple and Suresh had a running bet: whoever flubbed a line first had to buy lunch for the entire crew. Suresh lost so often that he ended up funding meals for almost the whole schedule.
