• Raj Babbar and Shreeram Lagoo first shared screen space in Daulat (1982), a film where Lagoo played a judge and Babbar played a lawyer. The director, S. A. Kader, deliberately cast them as courtroom opponents to create tension — and they ended up becoming friends on set.
• In Aurat Teri Yehi Kahani (1988), Lagoo played a stern father and Babbar played the romantic lead. Lagoo deliberately underplayed his scenes to let Babbar's emotional outbursts land harder — a trick he later said he learned from theatre.
• Lagoo, a trained surgeon and theatre veteran, would often rehearse lines with Babbar in his vanity van before every shoot. Babbar later admitted Lagoo taught him how to modulate his voice for the camera — something no other co-star had done.
• Raj Babbar once said in an interview: 'Shreeram ji was the only actor who could make me nervous. He'd look at me with those eyes, and I'd forget my lines. But he'd just smile and say, 'Take your time, beta.' That's the kind of man he was.'
• Their third and final film together, Badi Bahen (1993), was a family drama that directly inspired a lesser-known TV serial on Doordarshan called 'Badi Behen' (1995) — which ran for two seasons and launched the career of child actor Hansika Motwani.
