Trivia

  • The film was produced by director K. C. Bokadia's own banner, B. M. B. Pictures, which he often used for his projects.
  • Actor Mithun Chakraborty, who played Shankar, was a major box office draw in the early 1990s, especially in rural and mass-market films.
  • The movie's plot shares similarities with the 1989 Telugu film 'State Rowdy', which was also remade in several other Indian languages.
  • Music director Bappi Lahari composed the soundtrack, continuing his frequent collaborations with Bokadia during that era.
  • Actress Kimi Katkar, who played Sujata, took a break from films shortly after this release and largely retired from acting by the mid-1990s.
  • The film was not a major commercial success, reflecting a crowded market for similar dramatic potboilers at the time.
  • Some promotional material highlighted the title 'Tyagi', meaning 'the renouncer' or 'one who sacrifices', to emphasize the lead character's role.
