Trivia

  • The film's title 'Sandamarutham' refers to a traditional medicinal herb in Tamil culture, symbolizing the hero's role as a cure for societal ills.
  • This was the first time actor Sarath Kumar played dual roles as both the hero and the main villain in a single film.
  • Director A. Venkatesh is known for mass commercial films, and this was his second collaboration with Sarath Kumar after 'Sullan'.
  • The movie's plot involving a chemical bomb threat was an unusual theme for a family-action genre film in Tamil cinema at the time.
  • Despite the high-concept dual role, the film had a very limited theatrical run and received little attention from audiences.
  • Actress Poonam Kaur, who played the female lead, was primarily known for Telugu films before this Tamil project.
  • The climax was shot extensively in a factory set to depict the villain's chemical bomb manufacturing unit.
