Kavitha(1962)
Kavitha is a 1962 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by T. R. Raghunath. The film stars M. R. Radha and Rajasulochana in dual roles. It follows a wealthy young woman who marries a man from Malaysia to fulfill her dying father's wish. Her husband reveals himself as an abusive alcoholic who commits her to a mental hospital. A look-alike named Ponnamma is forced to take her place. The film was produced by Modern Theatres with story and dialogues by Murasoli Maran. Music was composed by K. V. Mahadevan. Storyline
A wealthy daughter named Kavitha sacrifices her true love to marry a man her sick father approves of. Her new husband turns out to be a violent drunkard who only wants her money. He has her locked away in a mental hospital and replaces her with a woman who looks exactly like her. Kavitha must find a way to escape and expose the truth.
