• They first paired in 'Kavalai Illaadha Manithan' (1960) only because the producer needed a fresh combo to rival MGR-Sarojadevi. Radha was a stage villain; Rajasulochana was a Telugu import. The director bet on their contrast — and it worked.
• On set, Radha would deliberately flub his lines in the first take to make Rajasulochana laugh. She'd then improvise a sharper retort. That ping-pong became their signature — especially in 'Padithaal Mattum Podhuma' (1961), where their banter feels like a real argument.
• Their 1962 film 'Kavitha' directly inspired the 1970s trend of 'woman-reforms-man' plots in Tamil cinema. Years later, director K. Balachander admitted he wrote 'Arangetram' (1973) after watching how Rajasulochana's character tamed Radha's brute in that film.
• Radha and Rajasulochana never spoke to each other off-camera after 1963. No fight — just a mutual, unspoken agreement. They'd walk to their marks, act, and walk away. The crew on 'Karthigai Dheepam' (1965) said it made their on-screen fights feel eerily real.
• Rajasulochana once told a magazine: 'Radha sir would look at me with those eyes, and I'd forget my lines. Not because I was scared — because I was trying to figure out what he'd do next.' She said this in a 1966 interview for 'Kumudam'.
