Trivia
- The film's title 'Rojavanam' is a portmanteau of the lead characters' names, Roja and Muthu (with 'vanam' meaning forest or place).
- Director Selva, known for gritty action films, made this romantic drama early in his career before hits like 'Kadhal Konden'.
- The movie was shot partly in the scenic hill station of Kodaikanal, a popular location for Tamil romantic films of the era.
- Actress Roja, a popular dancer and actress in the 90s, played the female lead, sharing her name with the character she portrayed.
- The plot involving saving an old age home was an uncommon social theme for a mainstream romantic drama at the time.
- The film's music was composed by Deva, who was one of the most sought-after composers for romance and dance numbers in the late 90s.
- Despite the star cast, the film had a quiet release and is not widely remembered compared to other 1999 Tamil films.
