• In Kaalia (1981), Pran played the villain who terrorizes Amitabh Bachchan, but Kader Khan wrote the dialogue that made Pran's threats unforgettable. Khan gave Pran's character a poetic, almost theatrical menace — long, rhythmic threats that Pran delivered with a slow burn. That combo of Khan's pen and Pran's voice turned a standard villain into a blockbuster icon.
• Their first film together, Naseeb (1981), was a Manmohan Desai multi-starrer where both were part of a massive ensemble. They didn't share a single scene together. It took Kaalia (1981), released the same year, for them to actually act opposite each other — and that's when the magic clicked.
• Kader Khan and Pran never hung out socially. They were both family men who went home after pack-up. • In Pataal Bhairavi (1985), a fantasy film, Pran played a magician and Kader Khan played his bumbling assistant. Khan improvised most of his comic reactions — Pran would do a serious magic gesture, and Khan would react with a delayed, terrified double-take.
