• In Kaalia (1981), Pran played the cold-blooded don while Amjad Khan was the comic sidekick — a complete role reversal from their usual images. Pran set the serious pace, and Amjad improvised the laughs around it, making their scenes together the film's biggest draw.
• Despite playing rivals on screen, Pran and Amjad Khan were close off it. On the sets of Naseeb (1981), they would share lunch together every single day, often discussing theatre and Urdu poetry — a ritual they kept up across all seven films.
• Their first film together, Atmaram (1979), almost didn't happen. The director wanted a younger actor opposite Pran, but Amjad Khan insisted on a screen test with Pran. After one rehearsal, Pran told the director, 'He's the only one who can match my pauses.'

• In Jeeva (1986), their last film together, Pran deliberately slowed down his dialogue delivery to match Amjad's post-accident speech pattern after a car crash. Amjad later admitted that Pran's patience saved the film's climax scene from being scrapped.
