Partnership facts

• They first shared screen space in 'Mohre' (1987), but neither was the lead. Both played supporting roles in a film that tanked hard. Nobody walked out thinking 'we need to pair these two again' — yet they kept getting cast together anyway.
• In 'Hum Hain Kamaal Ke' (1993), Kher played the loud, bumbling hero while Amrapurkar played the sly, deadpan villain. The comedy worked because Amrapurkar never reacted to Kher's over-the-top antics — he just stared, letting Kher's energy bounce off his stillness.
