Partnership facts

• Nagarjuna personally called Srihari to offer him the role in Aavida Maa Aavide (1998). Srihari was a rising star then, and Nagarjuna wanted a strong antagonist who could match his screen presence. That phone call started their on-screen partnership.
• In Aavida Maa Aavide, Srihari played the villain with a quiet menace that forced Nagarjuna to dial down his usual charm. Nagarjuna later said Srihari’s intensity made him act more grounded — their scenes together had a push-and-pull that neither could replicate with other co-stars.
• During the shoot of Shirdi Sai (2012), Srihari was already battling health issues. Nagarjuna quietly adjusted his own shooting schedule so Srihari could rest between takes. They never spoke about it publicly, but the crew noticed.
• Their pairing in Jagadguru Adi Shankara (2013) was the only time two major Telugu stars played the same saint at different ages — Nagarjuna as young Shankara, Srihari as the older sage. No other film has attempted that casting trick since.
