• Anandaraj and Brahmanandam first shared screen space in 'Bamma Maata Bangaru Baata' (1990), but neither was the lead — they were both part of a large ensemble cast. The film tanked so badly (3.2/10) that it took them 12 years to work together again.
• In 'Seema Simham' (2002), Brahmanandam played a comic sidekick to Anandaraj's villain. Their scenes worked because Brahmanandam would deliberately overreact to Anandaraj's deadpan threats — one setting the joke, the other selling the punchline without cracking a smile.
• Their only hit together, 'Raghavendra' (2003), was a remake of a Tamil film. The Telugu version became a sleeper hit largely because of their comic track — it directly inspired a wave of 'hero vs villain with a funny sidekick' films in the mid-2000s.

• Brahmanandam on Anandaraj: 'He never laughed at my jokes on set. I thought he hated me. Then I saw the rushes — he was laughing inside, but his face stayed stone. That's why our scenes worked.'
