Partnership facts

• M. S. Narayana personally recommended Bhoomika Chawla for the lead role in Vasu (2002) after seeing her in a Hindi film. The director didn't know her, but Narayana insisted she was perfect for the part.
• In Aadanthe Ado Type (2003), Narayana improvised a whole comedy track on set while Bhoomika was in the frame. She didn't break character once, which made the director keep the take. That scene became the film's most replayed bit.
• Bhoomika and Narayana shared a running joke on every set: she would call him 'Mama' (uncle) and he would call her 'Kuthuru' (daughter). They kept this up even during serious scenes, cracking up the crew between takes.
• Their pairing in Missamma (2003) was so well-liked that the director wrote a separate comedy track for them in the second half — something not in the original script. That track later inspired a whole subgenre of 'heroine-comic sidekick' duos in Telugu films.
• Bhoomika once said in an interview: 'Narayana garu made me laugh so hard during Vasu that the director had to cut. But he also taught me how to time a reaction for comedy. I learned more from him than any acting class.'
• For Laddu Babu (2014), Narayana specifically asked the producer to cast Bhoomika as his on-screen daughter. He said no one else could pull off the emotional scenes with him. It was their last film together.
