• Manobala was already a busy director when he cast Raadhika as the female lead in 'Naan Ungal Rasigan' (1985). But here's the twist — he didn't just direct her. He also played a supporting role opposite her in the same film. That's how their on-screen partnership started: with him acting in his own movie alongside her.
• In 'Oorkavalan' (1987), Manobala played a comedic sidekick to Raadhika's character. Their scenes together had a rhythm where she would set up the punchline with her deadpan reactions, and he would deliver the laugh. It became a template for their later collaborations — she played the straight woman, he brought the chaos.
• After 'Thendral Sudum' (1989), Manobala and Raadhika didn't work together for nearly a decade. Their one courtroom scene together had no dialogue overlap — she delivered the verdict, he reacted silently with his eyes.
