• Cho was a playwright and satirist before he became an actor. Mukta V. Srinivasan cast him in Thenmazhai (1966) after watching him on stage — Cho's first film role ever. The director took a risk on a non-film guy.
• On the sets of Ninaivil Nindraval (1967), Cho would rewrite his own dialogues on the spot. Mukta let him. The result was a mix of the director's melodrama and Cho's sharp, comic timing — a tone that became their signature.
