• They first worked together in Kaafila (1990), but the pairing almost didn't happen. Sunny Deol was initially hesitant to sign the film because he thought Juhi was too 'girly' for the role. Juhi convinced him during a narration session by improvising a key dialogue on the spot.
• In Darr (1993), Juhi's character Kiran is terrified of Sunny's character — but off-camera, Juhi was the one who calmed Sunny down. He was so intense in the stalking scenes that he'd get physically shaky. Juhi would crack a joke between takes to bring him back to normal.
• During the shoot of Izzat Ki Roti (1993), Juhi and Sunny shared a tiny vanity van because the budget was too low for separate ones. They ended up playing endless rounds of cards between shots. Juhi later said Sunny cheated at cards but was too nice to call out.
• Juhi once said in a 1994 interview: 'Sunny is the only co-star who can make me laugh and cry in the same scene. He doesn't act — he just becomes the character, and I have to keep up.'
• Their pairing in Lootere (1993) directly inspired the casting of a lesser-known duo in a 1995 Bhojpuri film called 'Dushman', which went on to become a regional hit. The producer admitted he copied the 'angry hero + bubbly heroine' template from Juhi and Sunny.
• In Arjun Pandit (1999), their last film together, Juhi deliberately played her scenes softer than usual. She said in a behind-the-scenes clip that Sunny's rage was so loud on set that she had to whisper her lines to create contrast — and that whisper became the character's signature.
