• Ramasamy was already a star when Muthuraman was a struggling newcomer. For their first film 'Ooty Varai Uravu' (1967), Ramasamy personally insisted the director cast Muthuraman as the lead opposite him — a move that launched Muthuraman's career as a hero.
• On set, Ramasamy was the calm anchor while Muthuraman brought raw energy. In 'Veguli Pen' (1971), Muthuraman would often improvise comic lines during takes, and Ramasamy would silently adjust his timing to catch the punch — a rhythm they never rehearsed but always nailed.
• After 'Sondham' (1973) wrapped, Ramasamy gifted Muthuraman a gold ring with both their initials engraved. Muthuraman wore it in every film they made together after that — including 'Dheerga Sumangali' (1974).
