• Arjun and Seetha first paired up in Shankar Guru (1987) because the director, R. Thyagarajan, needed a fresh pair for a family drama. Arjun was already a rising action hero, but Seetha was relatively new. The director bet on their contrasting energies — his intensity, her softness — and it clicked so well that they made nine more films together.
• In Thaipasam (1988), Arjun played a hot-headed village youth while Seetha played his calm, grounding love interest.
