Partnership facts

• Jr. NTR was just 19 when they first shot together for Allari Ramudu (2002). Narayana was already a veteran comedian. The director said Narayana’s timing calmed NTR’s raw energy on set — that first scene together set the tone for the whole film.
• In Naaga (2003), Narayana played a sidekick who never let NTR’s hero take himself too seriously. Narayana would deliberately flub a line to make NTR laugh mid-scene, and the director kept those takes because NTR’s genuine laugh made the character more human.
• On the sets of Adhurs (2010), Narayana would bring homemade pickles from his village and share them with NTR during lunch breaks. NTR later said those small gestures made him feel like family, not just a co-star.
• After Baadshah (2013) wrapped, Narayana told a fan event: “NTR calls me ‘Narayana garu’ even when cameras aren’t rolling. That respect is why I never said no to any film he asked me to be in.”
• Their comic track in Adhurs (2010) — where Narayana’s character keeps mistaking NTR’s twin roles — became a template for double-role comedies in Telugu. At least three later films directly copied that confusion gag.
