• L.B. Sriram was a regular writer for Dharmavarapu Subramanyam's stage plays before they ever worked on a film. Subramanyam insisted Sriram write the dialogues for his character in Azad (2000), which became their first movie together.
• In Daruvu (2012), Subramanyam played a drunkard who keeps bumping into Sriram's character. Sriram later said Subramanyam would deliberately mess up his lines to make him laugh on set, and the director kept those genuine laughs in the final cut.
• The two were close friends off-screen for over 20 years. Sriram once revealed that Subramanyam would call him at 2 AM just to discuss a single dialogue beat for their next scene together.
• L.B. Sriram said about Dharmavarapu Subramanyam: 'He could make me laugh even when I was angry at him. That's why our scenes together always felt like a real conversation, not a performance.'
