Azad is a 2000 Indian Telugu-language patriotic action film written and directed by Thirupathisamy. It stars Nagarjuna Akkineni in the lead role, alongside Shilpa Shetty and Soundarya. The story follows a simple village man who is mistaken for a fictional vigilante created by a journalist to fight a terrorist. The film was produced by C. Ashwini Dutt under the Vyjayanthi Movies banner. It won four Nandi Awards, including Second Best Feature Film. The movie completed a 100-day theatrical run in four centers and was a commercial success. It was later remade in Kannada as Bhagath and loosely remade in Tamil as Velayudham.

Storyline
