Partnership facts

• Raghu Babu and Srinivasa Reddy first shared screen space in Gowri (2004), but their real partnership kicked off when director V. Samudra paired them as a comedy duo in Adirindayya Chandram (2005). Samudra saw their contrasting energies — Raghu’s deadpan face vs. Srinivasa’s manic delivery — and decided to build entire comic tracks around them.
• In Amar Akbar Anthony (2018), Raghu Babu played the straight man to Srinivasa Reddy’s over-the-top sidekick. Srinivasa would often improvise lines on set, and Raghu would react in real time — no retakes. Director Srinu Vaitla said their unscripted banter saved the film’s second half from dragging.
• Their hit comedy track in Bhagya Nagara Veedhullo Gammathu (2019) directly inspired the makers of Wanted PanduGod (2022) to cast them again as a bumbling duo. The producer told press he wanted “that same energy” from the 2019 film — and the pair delivered, even though the film itself got mixed reviews.
• Raghu Babu and Srinivasa Reddy have a standing rule: they never rehearse their comedy scenes together before the shoot. They believe over-rehearsing kills the spontaneity. On the sets of Drill (2024), they would meet for the first time on camera and just riff — the director kept the takes rolling.
• Srinivasa Reddy once said in an interview: “Raghu Babu is the only actor who can make me laugh with just a look. I don’t even need to hear his dialogue — his face is the punchline.”
