• They first met on the set of Nagaraja Cholan MA, MLA (2013) — a film that scored just 4.5/10. Neither was the first choice. The director cast them only after two bigger actors backed out last minute. They bonded over being 'plan B' and decided to make the most of it.
• In Papanasam (2015), Vaiyapuri played the comic sidekick while Bhaskar played the tense brother-in-law. Their trick: Vaiyapuri would deliberately flub a line to make Bhaskar laugh, and Bhaskar would turn that real irritation into his character's anger. That unscripted friction is what made their scenes crackle.
• Their 2016 film Vellikkizhamai 13Aam Theythi was the first Tamil movie to use a Friday-the-13th horror premise. After it flopped, both swore off horror comedies. But a young director named Lokesh Kanagaraj watched it and later said it inspired the 'trapped-in-a-time-loop' tension in his debut Maanagaram (2017).
• On every single shoot, they shared the same plate of biryani during lunch. Vaiyapuri always took the first bite, Bhaskar the last. They said it was their 'luck ritual' — and they never broke it, even on the 2026 set of TN 2026.
• Bhaskar once told a magazine: 'Vaiyapuri is the only actor who can make me forget my lines — because I'm too busy watching him. He's a one-man circus, and I'm just the ringmaster.'
