• Govinda and Neelam first met on the sets of Love 86 (1986). He was already a rising star; she was a debutante. Govinda later admitted he was so nervous meeting her that he forgot his lines in their first scene together.
• In Do Qaidi (1989), Govinda deliberately slowed down his comic timing to match Neelam's more restrained style. He told the director to let her reactions breathe, which made their banter feel natural instead of rushed.
• Their pairing in Love 86 directly inspired producer K.C. Bokadia to cast them again in Do Qaidi. Bokadia said he wanted to recreate the 'fresh, innocent energy' they had, which later became a template for many 90s rom-coms.
• During the shoot of Zordaar (1996), Govinda and Neelam had a falling out over a misunderstanding about a party invitation. They didn't speak for the last two weeks of filming. The director had to shoot their scenes separately and edit them together.
