Trivia

  • The film was originally planned to be directed by K. Balachander, but he handed it over to his frequent collaborator S. P. Muthuraman.
  • The movie's plot is a loose adaptation of the 1984 American film 'Impostor', which also features a protagonist framed for murder.
  • Composer Ilaiyaraaja reused the tune of his popular song 'Pon Maalai Pozhudhu' from another film for a different romantic number here.
  • Actress Radha played dual roles, mirroring the twin brothers, which was a less common practice for heroines in 1980s Tamil cinema.
  • The film's climax and courtroom scenes were noted for their dramatic tension, a hallmark of director Muthuraman's style.
  • It was one of several successful collaborations between lead actor Vijayakanth and director S. P. Muthuraman in the late 1980s.
