Thulasi(1987)
Thulasi is a 1987 Indian Tamil-language romantic drama film directed by Ameerjan. The film stars Murali as Siva and Seetha as Thulasi. The story is set in a caste-divided village where the powerful Thirunavukarasu controls everyone. His son Sammadham loves a low caste girl named Ponni, while his daughter Thulasi falls for the educated low caste boy Siva. The film explores the violent consequences of caste discrimination. It received a negative review from The Indian Express, which called it "thwarted love." The film was released on 27 November 1987.
