Kuppathu Raja(1979)
'Kuppathu Raja' is a 1979 Indian Tamil-language action drama film directed by T. R. Ramanna. The film stars Rajinikanth in a dual role as Jakku and Jayakumar, alongside Vijayakumar, Manjula Vijayakumar, and Padmapriya. It is a remake of the 1972 Hindi film 'Do Yaar'. The story follows a slum dweller who discovers his wealthy twin brother and becomes entangled in a conflict with a local gangster. The film was released on 12 January 1979, coinciding with the Pongal festival. Despite Rajinikanth's praised performance, the film was a commercial failure at the box office.

Storyline
Jakku is a hot-headed young man living in a Chennai slum. He loves Mynaa and fights against the cruel gangster Govind. When he discovers his long-lost twin brother Jayakumar, a rich businessman, he gets caught in a dangerous game of identity swap and betrayal.
