Trivia
- The film's title song 'Naseeb Mein Jitna Bhi Likha Tha' was originally composed for another Manmohan Desai film, 'Dharam Veer', but was not used.
- Amitabh Bachchan performed a dangerous stunt for a fight scene where he jumps onto a chandelier, which later broke and injured him.
- The movie features a rare cameo by legendary singer Kishore Kumar, who appears on screen miming to his own song 'Chal Mere Bhai'.
- It was one of the most expensive Hindi films of its time, with a grand set built for the 'John Jani Janardhan' song costing a fortune.
- The climax was shot at London's famous Royal Albert Hall, a first for a mainstream Hindi film at that time.
- Composer Kalyanji-Anandji reused the tune of the song 'Zindagi Imtihaan Leti Hai' from their earlier film 'Sarkari Mehmaan' for this movie.
- Despite mixed reviews, it was a major box office hit and among the top-earning films in India for 1981.
