Kushboo (born Nakhat Khan, professionally known as Khushbu Sundar) is a Tamil and Hindi cinema actress who became one of Tamil Nadu's most popular leading ladies of the 1990s, known for her roles in over 200 films across South Indian languages. Her breakthrough came with Chinna Thambi (1991), and she went on to appear in acclaimed films including Periyar (2007), a biographical film on social reformer E. V. Ramasamy, and commercially successful Tamil productions like Karisakattu Poove (2000) and Vinnukum Mannukum (2001). She won three Tamil Nadu State Film Awards and the prestigious Kalaimamani Award, and became the first Indian actress to have a dedicated temple erected by her fans. After marrying director Sundar C. in 2000, she transitioned into politics, serving as National Spokesperson for the Indian National Congress before joining the BJP in 2020.
