• Kushboo was already a huge star when Senthil was cast as her hero in 'Pattukku Naan Adimai' (1990). The director picked Senthil specifically because he needed a soft, non-threatening male lead to balance Kushboo's fiery screen presence — and it worked so well they made nine more films together.
• In 'Kolangal' (1995), Senthil deliberately underplayed every scene opposite Kushboo. He knew she dominated with loud, expressive acting, so he gave her space to explode — and that push-pull rhythm became their signature. Critics called it 'the quiet volcano and the wildfire'.
• Their 1994 film 'Nattamai' directly inspired the trend of 'village vs city' romances in Tamil cinema. After its success, at least five similar pairings were greenlit in 1995 alone — all trying to copy the Senthil-Kushboo dynamic of a rustic hero and a modern woman.
• Senthil and Kushboo never once had a fight on set across all 10 films. Kushboo later said in a 2001 interview that Senthil was the only co-star who never raised his voice at her — even when she was late, which was often.
• Kushboo once said: 'Senthil is the only hero who made me feel like I was the star. He never tried to outshine me — he just stood there and let me shine.'
• In 'Veeram Velanja Mannu' (1998), Senthil improvised a scene where he silently ties Kushboo's hair ribbon while she's ranting. That moment — unscripted — became the most talked-about scene in the film. Kushboo admitted she almost broke character because she wasn't expecting it.
