• They first shared screen space in Azad (2000), but the real spark came when director K. Vijaya Bhaskar paired them again in Manmadhudu (2002). Bharani later said Subramanyam was the only actor who could match his rhythm in that film's comedy track.
• In Dookudu (2011), Bharani played the hero's uncle and Subramanyam played a corrupt minister. Their scenes worked because Bharani set up the straight-faced tension and Subramanyam exploded into manic energy — they never stepped on each other's punchlines.
