• They first met on the set of Patita (1980), but Shoma almost didn't get the role. The director wanted a bigger name. Raj Kiran personally insisted she be cast after seeing her screen test.
• In Dariya Dil (1988), Raj Kiran deliberately slowed down his dialogue delivery to match Shoma's more measured rhythm. He told the director that her pauses made the romantic scenes feel real, not rehearsed.
