• Raj Kapoor was not the first choice for Giri (2004). The director originally wanted a bigger star. But Aarthi personally pushed for Raj Kapoor, saying his raw energy fit the role better. She convinced the team to cast him.
• On the sets of Kusthi (2006), Aarthi would quietly correct Raj Kapoor's Tamil diction between takes. He had a North Indian accent, and she helped him sound more natural. He later said she was his 'unofficial dialogue coach' on all three films.
• After Villu (2009) flopped, Aarthi and Raj Kapoor stopped talking for nearly two years. Aarthi felt he had become too casual about rehearsals. They only patched up at a mutual friend's wedding in 2011, where they danced together to a Giri song.
• Raj Kapoor once told a magazine: 'Aarthi is the only co-star who scolded me like my mother on set. She wanted me to be better, and I needed that kick.'
• Their first film Giri (2004) directly inspired a wave of rural-mass hero introductions in Tamil cinema. The scene where Raj Kapoor's character walks through a burning field became a template for at least three later films by other directors.
