• They first shared screen space in Kusthi (2006) because director M. S. Ramesh needed a pair of actors who could play rival village elders with zero dialogue overlap — Ilavarasu and Radha Ravi were the only two who agreed to shoot on separate days and never meet on set.
• In Sangili Bungili Kathava Thorae (2017), Radha Ravi insisted on doing his comedy scenes with Ilavarasu in one continuous take — he said Ilavarasu's timing was so precise that cutting between shots would ruin the rhythm. The final 4-minute ghost-busting scene was shot in a single take.
• Their pairing in Aan Devadhai (2018) — a surprise hit — directly led to director S. S. Stanley casting them again in Sixer (2019). Stanley told press that the audience reaction to their father-son argument scene in Aan Devadhai was so loud in single screens that he wrote Sixer specifically to give them a longer confrontation.
• On the sets of Kalathil Santhippom (2021), Ilavarasu and Radha Ravi had a running bet: whoever flubbed a line first had to buy the entire crew filter coffee from the nearest stall. Radha Ravi lost every single day — he later admitted he deliberately messed up because he liked the coffee there.
• Radha Ravi once said in a 2019 interview: 'Ilavarasu doesn't act — he just stands there and the scene happens around him. I have to work twice as hard to keep up with a man who isn't even trying.'
