• Kaveri was actually the first choice for Vasantham (2003), but Kalyani was brought in last minute when Kaveri had a scheduling conflict. They ended up sharing screen time anyway — the director rewrote the climax to include both of them.
• In Dongodu (2003), Kaveri played the loud, impulsive friend while Kalyani was the shy, romantic lead. The director said he cast them specifically because Kaveri’s natural energy pushed Kalyani to react more spontaneously — their scenes together have a push-pull rhythm that neither had with other co-stars.
• Their pairing in Kabaddi Kabaddi (2003) was so well-received that the producer greenlit a spin-off comedy track featuring just the two of them — it never got made, but the idea directly inspired the double-heroine template in later Telugu comedies like Evadi Gola Vaadidhi (2005).
• During the shoot of Pedababu (2004), Kaveri and Kalyani shared a room in a small town lodge for three weeks because the production budget couldn’t afford separate rooms. They became close enough that Kalyani later said Kaveri taught her how to handle creepy fan mail.
• Kalyani once told a fan magazine: 'With Kaveri, I never had to act scared or shy — she made me laugh so much between takes that the director would yell at us. But that laughter is what you see on screen.'
