• They first met on the set of 'Cinema Paithiyam' (1975) because director S. A. Kannan thought Jayachitra's comic timing would bounce off Ramasamy's deadpan delivery. Ramasamy reportedly told the director, 'She talks faster than I can react — that's the energy we need.'
• In 'Thangathile Vairam' (1975), Ramasamy deliberately slowed his dialogue pace so Jayachitra could finish her rapid-fire lines first — then he'd deliver the punchline. That rhythm became their signature, and other comedians started copying it.
• Their double act in 'Kumaara Vijayam' (1976) was so popular that the producer rushed a third comedy track into the script mid-shoot, expanding their screen time from 12 minutes to 28. That film directly inspired the 'comedy pair as subplot' trend in late-70s Tamil cinema.
• During the shoot of 'Sadhurangam' (1978), Ramasamy would bring Jayachitra homemade lemon rice every morning because she kept skipping breakfast. She later said he treated her like a younger sister — they stayed in touch until his death in 2002.
• Jayachitra once told a magazine: 'Ramasamy sir never let me feel like a junior artiste. He'd say, "You set the pace, I'll follow." That's rare for a senior comedian.'
