• Navdeep was a newcomer when Tanikella Bharani handpicked him for 'Manasu Maata Vinadhu' (2005). Bharani wrote the script and insisted on casting Navdeep after seeing his audition tape — the director had wanted a more established hero.
• In 'Modati Cinema' (2005), Tanikella Bharani played Navdeep's father. Their scenes together had no rehearsal — Bharani would whisper a line change seconds before the camera rolled, and Navdeep had to react in real time. That raw, unpolished energy became the film's emotional core.
• Their 2017 Tamil film 'Naan Aanaiyittal' was the first time a Telugu actor (Navdeep) and a Telugu character actor (Bharani) headlined a Tamil political thriller. It directly inspired director A. L. Vijay to cast more Telugu actors in Tamil lead roles the following year.
• On the sets of 'Om Shanti' (2010), Tanikella Bharani would cook biryani for the entire crew every Sunday. Navdeep later said that ritual was the only reason he showed up on time for the chaotic shoot.
• Navdeep once said in a 2021 interview: 'Bharani garu doesn't act. He just stands there and the scene happens around him. I learned to listen, not perform, because of him.'
• In 'Ala Vaikunthapuramulo' (2020), they played father and son again — but this time Bharani's character was a comic relief. Navdeep pushed Bharani to improvise the 'phone call' scene where he fakes a heart attack. That bit was entirely Bharani's idea, born from a lunch break joke between them.
