• Their first film together, Jai Chiranjeeva (2005), almost didn't happen. Director K. Vijaya Bhaskar was unsure about casting Rahul Dev as the villain opposite Brahmanandam's comic role, but Brahmanandam personally insisted that Dev's deadpan intensity would make their scenes funnier. He was right.
• Brahmanandam once said in an interview that Rahul Dev was the only co-star who could make him break character mid-scene. Dev's completely straight face during Brahmanandam's wildest improvisations would catch him off guard, forcing genuine laughter that the director kept in the final cut of Loukyam (2014).
• On the sets of Yevadu (2014), Brahmanandam would deliberately mess up his lines just to see if Rahul Dev would crack a smile. Dev never did — not once in seven films. Brahmanandam called it 'the longest losing streak of my career.'
• Their comic-villain pairing in Naayak (2013) directly inspired director V. V. Vinayak to write a similar dynamic for his next film, Akhil (2015), where he cast Brahmanandam opposite another stoic villain. The template they created — loud comedian vs. silent brute — became a mini-trend in Telugu masala films for the next three years.
