• Their first film together, Sri Anjaneyam (2004), almost didn't happen. Prakash Raj was initially hesitant to play the villain opposite Subbaraju's hero. Director Krishna Vamsi had to convince Prakash Raj that Subbaraju's raw energy would make their clash scenes iconic.
• In Pokkiri (2007), Subbaraju played the silent, menacing henchman while Prakash Raj was the loud, theatrical villain. • In Sarileru Neekevvaru (2020), they played father and son for the first time. Prakash Raj deliberately underplayed his role to let Subbaraju's emotional breakdown scene breathe. Subbaraju later said that Prakash Raj's quietness in that scene made him cry for real — the take was kept in the final cut.
